Microsoft 365 sign-in problems
What to check when Outlook, Teams, Microsoft 365 or another Microsoft service will not accept your sign-in.
If you cannot sign in to Microsoft 365, first confirm that you are using the correct work email address and that Caps Lock is not enabled.
Try these checks:
• Open a private/incognito browser window and try signing in again.
• If your password recently changed, update saved credentials on Outlook, Teams and mobile devices.
• Complete any Multi-Factor Authentication prompt shown on your registered device.
• If the authentication prompt never arrives, check network connectivity and your authenticator application.
• Note the exact error code or message shown on screen.
If the problem continues, create a Helpdesk ticket under the Microsoft 365 / Modern Workplace category. Include the affected email address, application, error message, approximate start time and whether other users are affected.
